Creating an alert – Alert Settings
Step 1: Choose the type of alert
In the alert settings, you will first need to specify the type of alert that you would like to receive.
There are three types of alert that you can use:
- Spikes in Conversation – When there is a sudden increase in mentions in a short period of time, it usually means something interesting has happened. Receive alerts when there is an increase or decrease in conversation.
- Sentiment Shift – Beware of crisis and be informed of compliments. Receive alerts when there is a sentiment shift of the topic.
- Periodic Notifications – Get regular updates of what’s going on on the internet.
Step 2: Choose the variables
Next, you are required to choose the variables to be monitored. You can choose to monitor all main posts and the comments included in them; you can also choose to either monitor main posts only or comments only.
Step 3: Choose the channels
Is there a specific channel you want to monitor? Or do you want to have ears everywhere? Uncheck the boxes if you would like to exclude certain channels.
Step 4: Alert Cycle
Alert cycle is the baseline for the alert. For example, if you choose a 30-minute interval, we will scan the internet every 30 minutes and compare the result with the data we recorded 30 minutes ago. If it matches with the condition you set (see below). An alert will be triggered.
Step 5: Set up the alert condition
Under what condition(s) should you be alerted.
